ELMAC has been breeding and producing quality Papillons for over 30 years. Eleanor began showing Papillons in the early 1970's for Kay MacDonald of the famous Bannahyde line. Eleanor had already been showing Miniature Poodles in obedience and wanted a Toy breed that didn't require the constant grooming and clipping that poodles require. Kay bred a litter and offered Eleanor pick puppy, Heather of Bannahyde, in 1972. Eleanor showed Heather in both breed and obedience, earning her Champion title and Companion Excellence obedience title (CDX - or "Open" class). Ch. Heather of Bannahyde, CDX also went on to become a Dam of Merit. This is where the long line of Champion Elmac dogs began!
Eleanor put obedience titles on the famous Ch. Jaclair's Howdy Doody, CD. He was latter bred to Ch. Florentine's Camille, UD, who Eleanor also showed, and that pair produced BISS/BIS Ch. Bannahydes UFO of Beechwood (bred by Kay MacDonald and owned by Mrs. Alfreda ["Freddie"] Mayle, handled by Mr. Mike Shea). This famous boy is in many of Eleanor's early Champions. The following picture shows Carole Humphreys and Ch. Jaclair's Howdy Doody, CD and Eleanor with Ch. Florentine's Camille, UD in the 1970's:

Since 1973 Elmac dogs have been competing and winning Championships, Breed wins and Obedience titles. The lines go back to the great Papillons of yester-year, including the wonderful lines of Bannahyde (Kay MacDonald) and Canadian Jaclair (Mrs. Clarice Babbidge). Our Papillons have been handled exclusively by Allan Chambers for the past ten years.
